Topographical Surveying

Topographic surveys are used to map the contours of the ground and existing features (i.e. trees, buildings, manholes, utilities, retaining wells, etc.). If the purpose of the surface is to serve as a base map for the design of residence, it may be necessary to show perimeter boundary lines and easements on the property being surveyed.

Topographic surveys require “benchmarks” to which ground contours are related, information regarding surface and underground utilities, determination of required setbacks, etc.
