Phase I & II Geo-Environmental Investigations

Phase I ‘desktop’ studies are an initial environmental site assessment which are the first step in most redevelopment works. These are often required by the planners, and they identify potential or existing geotechnical and / or environmental contamination liabilities and potential areas of concern for future ground works.

A Phase II is a more detailed investigation involving intrusive site works and chemical / geotechnical analysis. This is done with a focus on the proposed end-use of the site / scheme, and will be formulated to ensure that the Client gets more information on the risks and ground conditions which they may face during construction.
